Schoolboy rushed to hospital for emergency operation after classmate stabs him in the chest on Costa Blanca street

After a classmate stabbed him in the chest, a schoolboy was rushed to hospital and had an emergency operation.

A 16 year old boy required emergency surgery after he had been stabbed in the street by a fellow student.

On Wednesday, around 2pm the attack took place on Avenida de las Valencianas in the city. It was close to KFC.

The Torrevieja Police Local arrested the attacker and turned him over to Guardia Civil custody.

Both boys attend the nearby IES College Las Lagunas.

The aggressor – age not disclosed – was scheduled Thursday to appear at a Juvenile Court.

The Guardia Civil did not elaborate on the possible motives for the attack, but pointed out that it was not bullying.

The boy, born in Dominican Republic, was admitted to Torrevieja Hospital with a chest wound.

The teenager was rescued after an emergency surgery that went well.
