The British holidaymaker who died after falling off his bicycle while cycling with friends on the Costa del Sol was a Briton.
The unnamed 57-year-old tourist, so far identified only by his initials N.N., was on the N-340 road near Almuñecar on Thursday afternoon when tragedy struck.
According to witnesses, the cyclist appeared to pass out before falling off his bike – with his death likely linked to an existing health problem.
Around 12.30pm local, emergency services were called.
Over a half-hour, they tried to revive him with defibrillators and other devices.
The man was declared dead on the spot.

The male Brit was staying in a hotel on the Costa del Sol, at Nerja. This is 12 miles from the site where he died.
The tragedy occurred on a road that has been named the deadliest in the Costa del Sol.
According to a report compiled by the European Motorists Association (AEA), kilometre point 302 of the N-340 road, straddling the border between Nerja and Almuñecar, is the most dangerous stretch of tarmac in Malaga province.
In the years between 2019 and 20, the kilometre 302 site was the scene of three serious accidents that resulted in four injuries or deaths.
According to reports, the incident occurred between Mateano Restaurant Hotel California by km 313, and the Hotel California.
