The violent altercation between two homeless people in a Valencia entrance doorway escalated from a squabble to a fatal stabbing of one of them by a part of an parasol.
A judge remanded an Algerian citizen, 31, into custody on Wednesday after the death of a Moroccan victim aged 37.
The accused killer exercised his right to not testify.

The fight broke out around 10.30pm on Sunday in the Plaza Viriato, and the Policia Nacional apprehended the aggressor 7 hours later.
The incident was captured by security cameras at the Valencia Professional Conservatory of Music.
The argument between two men who were familiar with each other began over a blanket.
The Moroccan tried to use the Algerian’s umbrella as the rain was pouring into the porch of the building where they were both sleeping.

Both men were charged with alcohol consumption by the police.
The Moroccan was transported to Valencia General Hospital, but later died.
In an interview with the police, the suspect admitted to the assault but said he did not intend to kill his fellow rough sleeper.
