This is the 16th edition of the International Inline Hockey Tournament. We organize it in collaboration with the Lions Club who are committed to bringing inline hockey teams from all over Europe to Fuengirola. This year we’ll be welcoming teams from Finland, Latvia, Sweden, England and several regions of Spain, including Murcia (Águilas), Ceuta and Seville,” explained Rodríguez.
The councillor thanked all members of the Lions Club and its president “for their commitment to sport and for promoting a link between sport, tourism and the Lions Club”. It is about hundreds of football players who spend a week in our city and enjoy our beaches, gastronomy, services, and the warm welcome from our local clubs. Every year, teams return to the tournament and new clubs join. I congratulated the team for their outstanding work and looked forward to a thrilling international tournament this coming weekend.
Jari Nyman said: “This is our sixteenth international tournament, and we’re delighted to be holding it just before League begins. This tournament is of great value to us, as well as to visiting teams. The quality and standard of the matches are increasing every year. In fact, in the last three years, Latvian teams have won the tournament – but we hope this year the Lions will lift the trophy.”
