On Saturday, September 27, Marbella & San Pedro Alcantara are celebrating World Tourism Day with two free candlelit concerts.
This event has been described as “a special tribute” for both residents and visitors, following the success and number of attendees of the celebration last year. Marbella Council spokesperson: “This well-deserved homage is in an excellent year for tourism, when the city sees growth in quality, profitability and attendance.”
Both Plazas de la Iglesia, in Marbella and San Pedro Alcantara, will host the concerts. In Marbella the concert starts at 9.30pm. Seating is available from 8.30pm. It will feature a string quartet performing classics of ABBA artists, Queen and Frank Sinatra. Ana Vega performs a “classic elegant” Flamenco at the 10pm concert in San Pedro. Both venues will offer 200 free seats initially, first-come-first-served, with open access for standing attendees to enjoy the music.
The concerts will celebrate the booming tourism industry in the region and thank the community for their patience throughout the summer by expanding the venues to accommodate more attendees, as well as choosing San Pedro to create the perfect ambiance.
