Alexios Christopoulos is known to his closest friends as Alexie. For him, the journey of life has been defined by music and movement. In the 1980s he was born in Athens and fondly recalls his childhood growing up in the suburb Ano Elysia. He said, “I spent my early childhood in Athens in Greece during the 1980s.”
His family moved to England when he was 11 years old. For the next 20 years, it became his world—a place where he grew into adulthood, worked long hours and learned the rhythm of a faster-paced life.
The move changed everything

Spain offered them not just the sun, but also a life they’d long yearned for. “I like how work and life are balanced here. “It’s much more relaxed than England,” he confessed. The Spanish people were friendly, the fiestas filled him with joy and the Mediterranean waves brought the peace he sought.
Yoga soon became more than just his personal practice of over two decades—it turned into a way to build community and connection. Teaching yoga in Denia Alexie’s passion for sharing his love of Costa Blanca and the Costa del Sol with others allowed him to slow down. He said that the original reason for moving to Costa Blanca was so his family could enjoy a simpler way of life. They traded in long commutes and office work for more time outside, laughter and time with each other.
Alexie is passionate about yoga and shares it through his varied weekly timetable in Denia, Javea, and the surrounding areas. Alexie’s teachings are diverse, from energising power yoga and vinyasa at Sukha Studio to relaxing yin classes and tranquil beach sessions at Las Brisas or Almadraba. Alexie’s sessions, whether indoors or on the beach, reflect the serenity and balance he found in Spain.
Music for the heart
But music remains the core of his identity. He is a songwriter and performer. he can often be found with his guitar in handYou can play covers from the 60s, 90s and beyond. or singing his own songs to local audiences. He said, “I play regularly on the Costa Blanca either with my own music or covers.” Music keeps him grounded in creativity and joy, whether he’s performing solo or with a band.
The sea is what truly anchors him. Alexie admitted, “Living by the sea is one of my biggest passions.” He often walks along the beach, surfs in the winter and takes quiet moments to reflect.
Today, his life in Spain is one of harmony—a balance of yoga, music, family and the Mediterranean spirit. Alexie’s new life in Spain is more than a fresh chapter. This is the life Alexie always imagined: simpler and sunnier, but also deeply fulfilling.
