Barcelona has been knocked off the top spot as Catalunya’s most exclusive real estate hotspot. Homes in this quiet coastal town average over nine million Euros.

Avinguda Supermaresme is the most expensive street in Catalunya for the second straight year. This was according to the property portal Idealista.

Barcelona’s historically prestigious areas have been beaten by the stunning coastal thoroughfare, including its historic luxury enclaves in the capital that are long associated with Catalan high-society.

Exclusive avenue is mainly made up of villas, single-family homes and large gardens. This offers residents privacy and direct access the Mediterranean coast.

The location provides the perfect blend of coastal tranquillity and urban accessibility, with easy connections to major centres like Mataro and Barcelona itself – a combination that has proven irresistible to wealthy buyers seeking the best of both worlds.

Barcelona is still a major player in the luxury market.

The city maintains its presence in the elite segment through Avinguda de Pearson in the upmarket Pedralbes district, where properties exceed €6.5 million, securing second place in the regional rankings.

Third position goes to another coastal location – the Sitges seafront, with valuations topping five million euros per property.

It is clear that the trend towards exclusivity on the coast has shifted, with municipalities competing successfully to offer more privacy and natural surroundings against traditional urban areas of prestige.

Nationally, Supermaresme Avenue ranks second in Spain’s luxury property league table, beaten only by Coto Zagaleta in Benahavis, Malaga, where residences average a staggering €12.4 million.

Spain’s luxury market is dominated mostly by coastal locations such as Marbella. Palma and Andratx. These destinations confirm that Spain’s elite residential segment is defined by a combination of exclusivity and privacy.

This extreme concentration in valuations is a result of both domestic and foreign demand coupled with a limited supply.

Sant Andreu de Llavaneres has become a strategic alternative for those who seek exclusivity, without having to sacrifice proximity to Barcelona’s cultural and economic offerings.
