BOGUS BUNDLES

Access to the 85-year old woman’s house was gained via a spare lock.

Her money, which was split into €200, €100, and €50 notes, was replaced by paper to give the impression that the bundles had been untouched.

The agency staff took advantage of a victim who had no social support, as she did not have any family members or friends.

The woman realized she was being duped and reported it to the Policia Nacional.

According to the inquiries, it was revealed that she had been in a very close relationship with the real estate firm. This was done so as to earn her trust.

Àn employee had previously helped with the purchase and renovation of a property and learned all about her money and had access to her spare house keys.

The worker passed this information to his manager and boss.

The agency started by winning her trust.

The employees arranged for her hairdressing appointments, and even accompanied the client to social events.

They were trying to pull off the ultimate coup by making sure that she was not around.

A two-day retreat at a spa near Alicante, Spain was organized. This gave the couple plenty of time for their plan.

The manager was in charge both of cutting the paper and executing the robbery.

The mother of an employee who assisted the victim issued her with the invitation to the spa resort and accompanied her there so that she did not return home too early.

The suspect was apprehended in an Alicante Restaurant as he was about handing over a portion of the stolen cash.

During the Policia Nacional operation, €26,000 in cash and a high-end mobile phone were seized.

The manager of the real estate company was arrested a few hours later at the headquarters.

The last person arrested was not in Alicante.

Four searches took place, two at private addresses, and two at the offices of an estate agency.
