The biggest summer party opens at the Cala de Mijas Feria in 2025

From July 22 to 27, 2025, La Cala de Mijas hosts its annual fair, a celebration honouring its patron saint, Santiago Apóstol.

The fair, which is held around the feast day of his birthday on July 25, has a lot of modern elements as well as religious reverence. It brings together everyone for a week filled with music, dance and community spirit.

The street parade, with giants and big-headed characters, will begin at 7.30pm. Music bands, giants and other figures will be parading in La Cala streets. The colourful procession pays homage to Spanish folk tradition and attracts crowds. At 10.30pm the Mayor, the elected Grandfather/Grandmother of the Feria, and other officials will switch on the illuminations, officially opening the celebrations. The evening before, 300 senior citizens are honored with a dinner and a concert by Manuel Orta. This helps to strengthen the community’s bonds.

The fairground will open at 7pm on July 23 with a focus on children. The evening begins with a dance performance by Victor Rojas students, followed at 9pm by the Disney Rock concert, which is aimed specifically at young audiences. A draw determines the winners of the contest for children and babies king and queen. At 10.30pm, candidates for fair queen, king, and escorts are presented in a glamorous gala, followed by a performance by El Tren de los Sueños at the municipal marquee, free until capacity is reached. The Youth Marquee, La Alegría Pura, hosts DJs and animations daily, catering to younger crowds.

Reduced noise is available from 7pm-9pm for people with autism spectrum disorders. The Feria de Día at Torreón, from 1pm to 8pm, offers live music, food, and children’s games, boosting the festive feel. Feria de La Cala is one of the highlights on the Costa del Sol, with over 100 security staff ensuring safety. It celebrates community, tradition and joy.
