Crazy classics from Maestrissimo in Arroyo de la Miel

This summer the Auditorio Municipal de Benalmadena is transforming into a cultural paradise under the stars and is gearing up for an unmissable delight: Maestrissimo. 

Set to take the stage as part of the venue’s incredible something-for-everyone 2025 summer season, the unique production by the acclaimed Yllana company promises an evening of laughter, music, and theatrical brilliance.

Maestrissimo can be described as “allegro, molto virile”,  The show is a delightful blend of chamber music, satirical humor, and period play that takes audiences to an era between the Baroque & Neoclassical periods in the 17th – 18th centuries. The show follows the journey of a talented, but underappreciated musician, “segundón” without any noble lineage, as he strives to climb the ranks and earn the coveted title of maestrissimo. Will his exceptional talent and genius be able to overcome the rigid hierarchy of his day? Will he be able to achieve the fame he deserves? These questions form the backbone of a story as entertaining as it is thought-provoking.

Maestrissimo combines musical excellence with razor-sharp wit in the usual style of Yllana. The creators of the beloved Pagagnini are behind this show. The show explores timeless topics such as ethics and creativity, the role of the arts in society, and originality. It also features iconic moments from the greatest classical music hits. This show is a masterpiece of design, featuring hilarious characters and an interplay between music and comedy. It will move and entertain audiences.

Opera Benalmadena’s summer season 2025, which runs from July to Septembre, includes over 30 performances of radically different genres, such as theatre, concerts and comedy. The shows are all presented against the breathtaking backdrop of Arroyo de la Miel’s open-air auditorium. Maestrissimo, a show that caters to all tastes, is the highlight of this summer season.
