Reif Othman, a chef and AI named Aiman has teamed up to redefine the dining experience.
Dubai is taking futuristic fine dining to the next level this September 2025, with the launch of WOOHOO – an Asian-inspired restaurant led by an artificial intelligence chef named AimanThe Kempinski Boulevard Hotel is near the Burj Khalifa.
According to Reuters.AI-powered dining concepts are designed to “elevate creative ideas and elevate creativity” within the kitchen. They do not intend to replace chefs. Aiman, developed by the hospitality group Gastronaut and trained using decades of food science research around the world as well as thousands of traditional recipes in order to create innovative menu concepts with Dubai chef Reif.
“Human food will not replace the human kitchen, but we still believe [Aiman] Gastronaut CEO Ahmet Oytun, who cofounded the project, said that the project would elevate ideas and creativity.
What will AI Chef Aiman really do?
Aiman is short for “AI man”, and it’s not a typical algorithm that manages stock or reservations. He will help create new flavour combinations, analyze seasonal produce and work with chefs to improve dishes based upon real-world feedback.
Aiman is unable to taste or smell but his culinary model breaks down food into its constituent elements, such as umami, acidity and texture. Human chefs then refine and test these AI-generated prototypes.
Aiman said in an interactive interview that his model helped him refine his understanding of what works, beyond just pure data. Reuters.
Chef Reif Othman, known for restaurants like Zuma and PLAY, will oversee this collaboration – resulting in a menu featuring items such as sushi rolls, ceviche and robata skewers, all guided by algorithmic precision.
As you can see, Time Out Dubai WOOHOO reports that it will offer a “spaceship journey” and live DJ sets in a secret lounge, Spock. It will also feature digital art, reactive lighting and WOOHOO’s cyberpunk interiors.
The drinks list is equally ambitious. It promises AI-assisted cocktails, rare ingredients and a sci-fi touch.
While some people may argue that real cooking requires a human hand (tastes, smells, instincts), WOOHOO’s team believes that this human and AI partnership could revolutionise creativity as well as sustainability.
Cakir hinted that long-term plans are to license the technology to other countries to reduce waste.
The question is: Are diners prepared for an AI chef
WOOHOO will open in Downtown Dubai, Kempinski The Boulevard Hotel on September 20, 2025. Follow @woohoo.dubai Instagram is a great place to get updates.
