Sporting Lisboa targets Almería’s Luis Suárez

UD Almería are reportedly optimistic as Sporting Lisbon express keen interest in signing their star striker Luis Javier Suárez. The Colombian forward is a star performer this season in LaLiga’s Hypermotion, scoring 31 goals in 43 games and supplying eight assists.

Sporting CP are looking to replace Viktor Gyökeres, who is expected to depart following a successful spell in the Portuguese top flight. Suárez’s playing style is said to closely resemble Gyökeres’s, making him a promising fit for the Lisbon club’s tactical approach. Suárez, contracted to Almería until 2029, has attracted attention from several top European teams. The Andalucían club reportedly values him at around €25 million, a figure that would set a new club record if met, surpassing the sale of Darwin Núñez to Benfica for €24 million.

Sporting is interested in a major transfer during the summer window, even though the deal has not been finalised. Fabrizio Romano, the well-known football transfer expert, has confirmed Sporting’s pursuit of Suárez as they aim to strengthen their attacking options.

For UD Almería, the potential sale represents a significant opportunity both financially and in terms of squad development. Fans will be watching closely to see whether this transfer comes to fruition, marking a key moment in Suárez’s career and Sporting Lisbon’s ambitions.
