Irish man stabbed on Costa Blanca but refuses to reveal attacker’s identity


A 29-year Irishman was stabbed in the morning of Sunday, Orihuela Costa’s La Zenia.

Authorities claim that the victim has a criminal background.

It is important to note that the word “you” means “you”. Informacion Newspaper reports that he informed the Guardia Civil he knew who his attacker was but he wasn’t prepared to identify him.

The attack took place at 1.30am in Calle Jalon. There were blood pools visible.

Orihuela Local Police officers provided first aid before transporting him to Torrevieja Hospital.

The second violent incident in the same area in the last month involves Irish nationals.

On May 13, a 21-year old Irish man was fatally shot in the head while inside a building near the Zenia Boulevard Shopping Centre.

The victim is currently recovering at an Elche hospital.

Two men, both Irish, were arrested and the accused shooter was taken into custody.

After being charged with providing aid after the crime, his friend’s passport was taken.
