Iryo Conecta is the new brand of Spain’s high speed rail operator. It will offer a revolutionary “Train + Hotels” service in June 2025.
The Italian company now operating in Spain announced expanded routes to Spain’s Costa Oriental de Málaga and Costa Granadina (Nerja, Motril, Almuñécar, Salobreña) and Portugal’s Algarve (Albufeira, Lagos, Faro, Portimão) in partnership with Alsa buses. Iryo also plans to connect Costa Dorada destinations like Cambrils, L’Ametlla de Mar and Vila-Seca via regional trains, as well as introduce north-south connections such as Girona-Malaga and Barcelona-Marbella, Fuengirola or Estepona by train and bus.
Iryo offers a “Train + Hotel”, developed in partnership with Destinia. This service allows travellers to combine train tickets, accommodations and destination experiences on the Iryo website. This service offers discounts on over 3,000 hotel rooms in 11 different destinations.
Iryo’s launch in November of 2022 has seen it transport 17 million passengers on 51,000 services covering 29 millions kilometres. It now holds a quarter share in the high-speed railway market for Spain. Madrid-Barcelona is the busiest of its 400 weekly routes, with 182 weekly services. Madrid-Valencia comes in second place (102 weekly services), Madrid Sevilla is third (90 weekly services), and Madrid Malaga is fourth (70 weekly services).
