Bookings for berths in Andalusian ports are almost completely full.
According to the association Marinas de Andalucía, predictions are for 100 per cent at some harbours, according to a survey of its members managing over 9,000 berths. The association Marinas de Andalucia predicts that up to 40 boats per day will arrive in some ports, while the average is 8-9. Visitors will stay between 2 and 4 days. This indicates a lucrative nautical tourism industry which benefits local economies.
“The positive outlook reflects our ports’ international appeal and high-quality services,” said Marinas de Andalucía President Manuel Raigón. The increase in tourism also generates income for local restaurants, shopping centers, and entertainment venues. Marinas on the Costa del Sol are now economic focal points. The attractiveness of Andalusia is being highlighted by the increasing numbers of visitors coming from Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
Charter boating has also seen a boom, with up to 15 rental companies in each marina. Some even have more than 100. This is especially true for younger groups looking to experience sea adventures. The trend has a ripple effect on retail and other businesses. The most popular are motorboats, followed by sailboats, catamarans and jet skis (which are very popular with families).
Marinas on the Costa del Sol are transforming into vibrant centres of dining, shopping and leisure. They have become a major tourism attraction. The summer of 2025 will be a season of prosperity for coastal Andalusian communities. Businesses can expect to benefit from increased foot traffic and expenditure. The rapid growth of marinas demonstrates their contribution to changing holidaymaker demand and regional prosperity. They are essential for the future economic and cultural vitality on the coast.
