The Central Government has given the green light to the Marbella Breakwater Project.
The coastal project is expected stabilise the coast of one of Spain’s most touristic areas.
The Ministry for Ecological Transition & the Demographic Challenge in Spain (MITECA) has approved the project, which includes the construction two dikes on the coast of Marbella.

This project is a ‘fundamental step’ for the improvement of the coastline, for which a budget of €8.5 million has been set approved.

Javier Salas (sub-delegate for the Executive in Malaga) announced on Monday that the dikes will be constructed between La Venus and Punta del Ancon.
Marbella demanded the construction of dikes years ago, but a socialist Minister of Pedro Sanchez’s government blocked it.

The project was blocked for many years, but has now been approved. It is a response to the repeated requests of citizens, tourism entrepreneurs, and local and regional governments.
