They created a fake business to hide the criminal organization, whose leader was based in South America.

Two men were arrested and charged in Callosa with smuggling as well as public health offenses.

The Tax Agency started investigations over two years ago over suspicious catalytic converter imports going to the Callosa firm with its economic activity described by officials ‘inconsistent’.

Over time, officers waited patiently for the right moment to strike.

Last month, a shipment of converters that was very similar to the previous consignment arrived in Valencia.

On April 23, a random check was conducted and large quantities of cocaine were found inside the converters.

Along with the arrests of two men, 1,115 catalyst converters and several electronic devices were also seized.
