Fears that Russia may attack their homeland have prompted many Poles to purchase foreign property in Spain.
The number of non-Spanish buyers of real estate in Spain increased by 153% last year.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine, which took place in February 2022, has pushed East Europeans towards buying or renting properties on the opposite side of the continent.

Wabia said that “Poles enjoy the views of the sea, the terraces and modern finishes as well as the close proximity to the beach, good food, and the proximity to the beach.”
The price is another important factor for Polish buyers. Real estate in Spain is 27,5% cheaper.
In 2024, the Notary Statistics showed that Poles purchased 5,947 houses in Spain, which is 35% more than they did in 2012.
In terms of numbers, however, they still lag far behind the four top countries.
In 2019, only 1,684 transactions were made with Polish buyers.
What happened in Ukraine 2022 was the big turning point.
A Polish agent in Marbella, Agnieszka Marciniak-Kostrzewa, told 20minutos: Since the beginning of the war, there was an avalanche and the phones never stopped ringing.
“The war is still there, and every day news arrives of what is happening behind our border and we do not know how it will end,” she continued.
Valencian Community (and Andalucia) are the most popular places for Poles.
The Costa Blanca was the most popular area in the region.
Andalucia saw 4,1% of its purchasers come from Poland. This makes it the 7th highest foreign group.
