Estepona, Spain is alive with activity once more as the San Isidro Labrador annual fair began yesterday. The event will continue until Sunday May 18, 2025. This event celebrates the town’s agricultural roots, bringing together locals and tourists for a week filled with music, color, and celebration.
Tuesday marked the start of the festivities with the “Día del Niño,” where children enjoyed half-price fairground rides. The streets were filled with giants and large-headed figures in a joyful parade, followed by an official lighting of the Fairground.
The main celebration day is Thursday, 15 May. This is a public holiday in the area. The day starts with a floral offer at 8:00am, in front of San Jose Parish. In the evening the procession will be held with decorated floats and music groups from the locality accompanying San Isidro through Estepona’s flower-lined street.
The festival has a full programme all week long, with livestock shows, wine and food tastings, bird exhibits and contests that are rural in nature, such as chainsaw and axe handling.
The whole town is dressed up and there’s live music and dancing until late at night. Estepona’s San Isidro festival is one of its most beloved traditions. It combines local pride with religious devotion and plenty of good spirits.
