CARLO Ancelotti is leaving Real Madrid after the season. He has agreed to become the national head coach for Brazil.
The 65-year old Italian will start his new role one day after Real Sociedad’s last La Liga match at home.
After Sunday’s El Clasico defeat by Barcelona, Real Madrid is now seven points behind league leader Barcelona with only three games left.
Real Madrid will almost certainly end their season without a title for the first four years after the defeat.
Ancelotti leaves the Santiago Bernabeu a successful manager. Over two stints, he won 15 trophies with the club including three UEFA Champions Leagues.

The Brazilian national team will be led by the first permanent foreign coach in its history when they face Paraguay next month and Ecuador.
Ancelotti will be the first coach to manage internationally after becoming the one and only coach who has won all five of Europe’s major leagues. The feat was achieved with Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
Los Blancos will replace Ancelotti by Xabi Alono, after the former Real Madrid, Liverpool and Spain midfielder made his departure from Bayer Leverkusen official on Friday.
Alonso is wanted by Real’s higher-ups ahead of the redesigned Club World Cup. Real’s debut game will be against Al-Hilal, a Saudi club in Miami on 18 June.

Alonso’s Leverkusen shocked German giants Bayern Munich when they won the Bundesliga title last year without losing a match.
Alonso shares a close relationship with Real Madrid, having played between 2009 and 2014 for the club. The Basque Coach is also one of the most promising tactics in football.
Alonso is expected to sign a contract for three years with the Spanish giants, according to reports. Alonso will be announced shortly.
