Casares and San Roque could become the most important polo destinations of southern Europe. Polo Valley announced two new projects: The Owners Club at Casares, and The Hills at San Roque. These projects have a combined investment in the first phase of more than 320 million euro.
Owners Club is expanding Polo Valley in El Secadero. Casares. This will include six stables for 72 horses each, a full sized polo pitch, and top-notch training facilities. The project will provide 25 skilled jobs year-round and offer a retreat for professional riders. Christian Byrne of Polo Valley called it a sanctuary rooted in nature, excellence and polo.
The Hills, located in San Roque, near Sotogrande, will feature a five-star luxury hotel, a wellness retreat, a beach club, SPA and luxury dining. The project will also include 16 villas, an area of boutique shops designed in the style of an Andalusian town, and a hospital focusing on health and longevity. The development is expected to create over 250 direct and indirect jobs.
The local mayors have welcomed the investment and said it will help the region achieve its goal to become a leading equestrian destination. These projects blend in with the surrounding natural environment while promoting tourism, sport and employment throughout the year. Casares & San Roque have now cemented their place on the map of international polo.
