Barcelona has prepared for its summer transfer window, and is prepared for any scenario in its quest for attacking reinforcements.

The Blaugrana are still focusing on Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao as their top target, but they’re also keeping a close eye on the other players.

Barcelona keeps a close watch on Ademola Lookingman

Spanish media reports that Barcelona has identified Atalanta forward Ademola lookman as a possible target for this summer. The 27 year old Nigerian striker is seen as someone who can strengthen the team while fitting into the club’s limited budget.

Lookman has been a standout for Bergamo this season. He has scored 18 goals and provided 7 assists in 37 appearances. Atalanta was able to achieve success in the Serie and UEFA Champions League thanks to Lookman.

Lookman’s situation in Italy might also work in Barcelona’s favor. The player is said to have requested a transfer due to a breakdown in the relationship between him and Atalanta manager Gianpiero Gasperini. That internal friction could push down his market value, with estimates placing a potential transfer fee around €35 million, less than the price tag on Nico Williams.

Ademola Lookman is the perfect fit for Barcelona’s tactical requirements

Lookman is a fast, skilled attacking player who has a lot of international experience. He fits Barcelona’s tactical needs. The Nigerian is able to play anywhere on the front line.

Barcelona’s sports department has a solid Plan B in place, even though Nico Williams is still the first choice.
