Are you looking for a traditional and fun way to celebrate May 1st? La Cala de Mijas is the place to be for this much-loved tradition. SardinadaThe event will see more than 600 kg of sardines cooked and given away for free.

The event begins at noon in Plaza del Torreon and marks International Workers’ Day. Visitors can enjoy fresh grilled sardines cooked by 18 local еелиWorkers will prepare the fish in the traditional Malaga style over open fires.

Live music and family entertainment will be provided along with delicious food. Local bands Alborea, and Radio 80, will perform under a large marquee at 1:30pm. The atmosphere is lively and fun.

La Cala Youth Association also runs a bar, which will serve drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. This is a fun day for everyone.

Mijas Town Hall, the organizer of this event, invites both locals and expats alike to enjoy this celebration of community, music and food.

May Day is a great event for anyone, whether you are a local or just visiting. Sardinada La Cala offers the ideal place to discover the culture and traditions of the Costa del Sol.
