BACK in 2018, a group of football-loving expats found themselves playing with another club – but something just didn’t click.
To take control of the beautiful game, they formed a team that was built on friendship and passion for football.
Estepona Old Boys is the result.
The club grew rapidly after one of the players took on the role as manager.
The word spread and soon they had enough players for not just one but two teams.
Today, the Estepona Old Boys are thriving, with two dedicated squads – an over 35s team and an over 50s team, fondly nicknamed ‘The Codgers’.
A strong sense camaraderie is at the core of the club.
At least one match is played every week. Both teams are often mixed, and they love to welcome visitors from the UK, Portugal and the Netherlands.
The Codgers have a reputation for being well-traveled. They go on tours every two years, and the latest tour saw them returning from the Algarve, with trophies in hand.
Estepona Old Boys, more than a football team, is a center of friendship and fun.
The team is always looking forward to the next adventure, whether it be a game of football on a sunny day or an international weekend competition.
