Volkswagen, a manufacturer of compact, likeable and affordable cars, has been leading the way in providing mobility to millions of people since the iconic Beetle. The term is overused today, but the Beetle genuinely deserves the moniker. The ID. EVERY1 is a low-cost all-electric entry-level model. Volkswagen will launch the production version in 2027 – with a starting price of around €20,000. The ID. 2all will be launched in the €25,000 class as early as in 2026. Both models belong to the new Electric Urban Car Family (with front-wheel drive) that is being developed by Volkswagen Group.

With the European launch of the all-electric Urban Car Family from 2026, Volkswagen will offer a diverse portfolio in the high-volume segment – from efficient combustion-engine models and advanced hybrids to future-oriented all-electric vehicles. The production ID. EVERY1 is the first vehicle in the Group to be equipped with a powerful, new software architecture.  The future entry-level Volkswagen will be able to have new features added throughout its lifecycle if the user so desires. The vehicle can be adapted even after the purchase of a brand new car.

The up! – the immediate predecessor of the ID. EVERY1 – built until 2023 still presents well with a distinctive design. The ID. The EVERY1 and its siblings will follow this path. Thanks to the electric drive front-wheel, the MEB platform provides revolutionary space utilization and maximum efficiency. The concept car reaches 130 km/h at its top speed and is powered by an electric motor of 70 kW (95 PS). VW claims the range to be at least 250 kilometers. ID is 3,880 mm long. The former is placed up! The ID. 2all (4.050 mm) as well as the current Polo (4.074 mm). The interior offers room for four passengers, and the luggage compartment has a volume of about 305 litres.

Volkswagen will provide a preview of its new Electric Urban Car Family during the autumn of 2025. There will be nine new models by 2027 including the production version of the ID.2all for less than €25,000 and the ID. EVERY1 for about €20,000. The VW concept car on display is obviously not for sale, but it gives an idea of what VW will be offering in the future.
