Thousands of hotels still for sale in Spain despite booming tourism sector – here’s where to pick one up – CSN News


If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a Hotel in Spain, the options are endless. Idealist The property portal claims to have over 1,000 listings – mostly in tourist hotspots.

Although the number of hotels on the site has fallen by 3.5% annually in March, it still offers almost 1,400.

In the wake of Covid-19, there was a significant increase in the number of hotels listed for sale. This is a higher level than a year earlier.

It is not surprising that tourist destinations like Alicante or the Balearic Islands are the most popular.

Almeria Leon, Murcia and Leon saw the largest increases over the last year.

The Balearics and Alicante provinces both had triple-digit availability.

The number of hotels available for sale in half the provinces decreased, with Malaga (-30%) and Girona (15%) leading the way.

Also, there were fewer listings in two of the major cities: Madrid (-10) and Barcelona (-12).

In contrast, 11 provinces failed to reach the double digits: Alava Cordoba Guadalajara Ourense Palencia Segovia Soria Valladolid Vizcaya Zaragoza

You’ll have the most options if you are looking to become a hotelier in an area that is popular with tourists.
