Covalsky bringing gypsy ragtime to Clarence

Clarence gets a taste of gypsy music with Covalsky

Covalsky is an upbeat jazz quartet that blends manouche gypsy ragtime with a distinct Spanish flair, and occasionally a hint bebop. They will perform their debut album Anhelos y Desatinos in a special concert at Clarence, Torremolinos on Friday, April 18, at 10pm.

With a sense of humor and irony, the 10 tracks of this album, which are based on real-life stories, tell tales of triumphs and missteps. They echo Javier Krahe’s style. The band invites audiences to their comic-book world, without preaching.

Coming from jazz, flamenco, and ethnic music traditions, Covalsky (Eduardo Covacho (tenor sax and vocals), Nacho Fucher (guitar), Alvaro Parada (double bass), and David González (percussion)) has crafted a unique ‘Manouche Ibérico’ sound. The sound of Covalsky combines the improvisational spirit of jazz with Spanish rhythms to create a unique and engaging performance.

The band’s unique fusion of style looks like it will be a very intimate concert. Tickets are priced at €15 for Zone A (rows 1–3), €12 for Zone B (row 4 onwards), and €10 for general or reduced-visibility seating.

Do not miss the opportunity to listen to Covalsky’s soulful, witty and humorous take on life. Tickets and information can be found on the venue’s box office website. Clarence can be found on Calle Danza Invisible 8 Torremolinos.
