SNOWY Golf announced the next tournament for elite young golfers.
From 21-23 April, junior athletes will have an opportunity to battle it out at Club de Golf La Cañada in Snowy Golf’s La Cañada challenge.
This tournament is open to all golfers under 21 years old, male or female, from any background who are looking to make a name for themselves and attract the attention of college coaches.
There is also a category for children under 14.
Club de Golf La Cañada is located in the municipality of San Roque, in the province of Cadiz, and is designed by the renowned architect Robert Trent Jones.
He was the architect behind Valderrama, a golf course that is regarded as one of the best in the world.
Participants will compete individually in a stroke play format over 54 holes at La Cañada’s iconic venue.
Registration includes a practice session on April 20. Those who wish to participate must register before April 18.
Snowy Golf tournaments allow juniors in Europe to earn World Amateur Golf Ranking points (WAGR) as well as European Golf Ranking points (EGR).
Aspiring stars can also catch the eye of college coaches and increase their chances of receiving college scholarships, which is a crucial step in the journey to a successful professional career.
Snowy Golf already held a successful event in Spain.
Santa Clara Golf Club hosted 33 competitors from 6-8 December.
The 15 nationalities included those from Britain and Spain as well as Germany. A 9-year old also competed.
Snowy Golf hosts its elite junior tournaments in the UK during the summer and in Spain and Portugal throughout the winter.
The company already has a large presence in Spain along the Costa Blanca, but they plan to expand their operations further.
Snowy Golf was founded by Collin Pennington, in memory of his father, John ‘Snowy’ Pennington, who devoted his time to junior golf.
John’s dream of giving young golfers an opportunity to shine on a global stage is being carried forward.
