Torremolinos international residents day

Torremolinos international residents day

Torremolinos is getting ready for one of its most-loved celebrations of the year – Residents Day, which unites more than 125 different nationalities.

On April 4-6, the 31st Residents Days Festival in La Carihuela will showcase the rich cultural tapestry, music, art, and cuisine from some of the most prolific nationalities that reside in the town. This will demonstrate the welcoming spirit of the town.

According to Mayor Margarita del Cid, ‘This is a gathering of a melting pot of cultures and identities from countless places, united by one thing: they call Torremolinos home.’ ‘It’s not just another party,’ she continued, ‘it’s a cultural cornerstone that reflects who we are. Torremolinos is made up of these nationalities. Residents Days will have stalls divided into two zones, one for artisanal crafts and the other for gastronomy. Live performances and local traditions will be highlighted.

Local associations like ‘Latina Americana Mano Amiga’ from Venezuela, ‘Vive México’, ‘Assadaka Marruecos’, and ‘Puerto Rico Aspuri’ will offer handmade goods, while groups such as ‘Cubanos Unidos’, ‘Killay Perú’, and ‘United Hindus of Spain’ will serve up authentic savoury street food.

Torremolinos is celebrating its global heartbeat by bringing together 28 performances, including Chilean folk dances, traditional German bands, Bolivian artists, and more.

All are welcome to attend this event, which is open and free to all. The event will run from 11am – 11pm, on April 4, 5 and 6, and 11am – 5pm, on Sunday April 6. Come and enjoy the celebrations of Torremolinos, a diverse community united in its diversity.
