Local activists claim that foreign property speculators are now posing in the role of locals to search for properties on sale in Mallorca.
An anti-tourism group claims to have identified the troubling trend via posters that have been put up around the island canvassing from residents only – no real estate agents.
A poster like this circulates in Palma, Santa Maria Soller and Sencelles. It reads “Do you have any idea about houses for sale?”
Paula is interested in purchasing property in the area. I will buy the house as-is, there is no need to clean or clear it. Contact me. Locals only, no real estate agencies.”
