A PARAGLIDER flew in an illegal manner over Palma de Mallorca on Sunday. Four planes were diverted, and the schedule was disrupted for hours.
The Guardia Civil are trying to find the offender who could be fined as much as €250,000 for the intrusion.
The last time a ‘foreign’ object caused problems at Palma was a drone in 2019.

Air traffic was suspended 15 minutes after a paraglider, spotted at 1pm in the protected airspace was sighted.
Flights from Bremen and Paris were diverted to Mahon Airport on Menorca. A flight from Madrid landed in Ibiza.
A large operation was launched to track down the transgressor believed to be in the area of s’ Aranjassa.
The paraglider chute was nowhere to be seen.
It could have entered the exclusion area by mistake due to a strong wind gust.
The owner of the glider will be sanctioned once they are found.
