Experts in WEATHER predict an unusually hot April for Spain after what is shaping up as an extremely wet March.
The State Meteorological Agency of Spain, Aemet, said that there is a 50% chance that April temperatures will be higher than average, and may even rise up to one degree.
This warm spell follows on from what meteorologists confirm will be ‘a March that ends much wetter than normal’, meaning that the entire month will have been storm-ravaged.

Forecasts indicate that the forecast could include nearly three weeks with above-average rain, which may continue into Semana Santa.
While long-range forecasts will become more reliable as the dates approach, current models indicate ‘high possibilities of rainfall during some days of Holy Week in Sevilla.’

Del Pino admits that “no clear signal allows us to predict exactly what will happen in April’s rainfall patterns.” He is, however, more confident with the forecast of higher temperatures than average.
It is possible that the abrupt transition from rainy weather to heat can be a problem for olive growers who usually focus on essential maintenance of their groves after Easter.
