They want to encourage physical activity, while also highlighting the new scenic route linking the two cities. A project that has been strengthened through recent infrastructure and extensive inter-municipal collaboration by both authorities.
On Sunday, March 16 at 1030 am, Benalmadena residents will meet at the Mirador del Collumpio, near Playa Bonita. Fuengirola residents will meet at Plaza de la Paz, by the Los Boliches Monument.
Both groups will meet at the end of the trail and have the chance to chat, take a few photos, or just enjoy the scenery. This was the original idea behind the new Arroyo del Jardin bridge that connects the two towns. Alejandro Carretero from Benalmadena stressed the event’s two-fold purpose: promoting health and celebrating the natural beauty of the region.
Senda Litoral, a Diputación de Málaga initiative, stretches over 180 kilometres so far, with the Benalmadena-Fuengirola segment now fully accessible thanks to collaborative efforts. The goal is to link all of Spain’s coasts with a large walkway suitable for cycling, walking and sport.
