Heavy rains triggered by Storm Jana have caused flooding on the Costa del Sol.

Online footage shows Torremolinos, for example, completely submerged by floodwater. The streets and stairs have been turned into rivers.

In Velez-Malaga a family was rescued just moments before a torrential downpour washed their car away.

In addition, the roads of Malaga and Marbella were also inundated. And this wet weather looks set to continue all week.

The State Weather Agency has classified the Costa del Sol, and Guadalhorce as yellow for Monday.

Forecasters can predict rainfall of up to 40mm or 15mm per hour.

According to the latest weather models, Malaga will continue to experience showers at least until the weekend.

Sevilla, Cadiz, and Huelva are all on yellow alert today for rain.

Traffic has been shut down on the Los Pedregales Road in Estepona due to a surge of water in the Vaquero Ravine.

Puerto Banus, Marbella, has also closed the underpass that leads to La Sala after it was inundated by rainwater.
