Midnight Hour, one of the coast’s most talented ensembles, is returning to the Salón Varietés Theatre in Fuengirola with its show, The Sound of The Commitments, on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 March. The show is based off the 1991 musical drama The Commitments. It’s a cult movie that tells the story of a young music enthusiast who gathers a group working-class youngsters to form a rock band in the style of African-American recording artist of the 1950s and 1960s.
Like the two soundtrack albums that were released for the smash-hit movie, the show also features some of the greatest soul singers, including Aretha, Wilson Pickett, and Otis Redding.
The band of ten, formed in 2023 recreates classic soul songs like Mustang Sally and Chain of Fools.
Midnight Hour has received acclaim from audiences all along the Costa del Sol for the quality and professionalism of their music. This band offers a fun-filled night of soul classics.
Due to their popularity, last year’s shows at the Salón Varietés sold out, so early reservations for next week’s gigs is advised.
Tickets are 20 euros each and can be bought from the theatre website or at the box-office Monday to Friday, between 11am and 2:30pm.
