Costa News Spain: Tribute to Cabezas

On Saturday, March 1, CB Marbella will pay tribute to one of Spain’s most celebrated basketball figures, Carlos Cabezas, in a special event at the Pabellón Carlos Cabezas. CB Marbella’s match against Colegio El Pinar will be the highlight of this special event, followed by an award ceremony to recognize Cabezas for his remarkable career.

Carlos Cabezas was born in Malaga and played a major role in Spain’s World Championship win in 2006. Cabezas is now 44 years old and played professional basketball up until 2021. He last played for Montevideo in Uruguay. Cabezas left a lasting impression on the ACB league as well as international basketball.

This tribute is even more meaningful because of his deep connection to Marbella, Costa del Sol, and the local authorities, sponsors, and sports figures who gather to honor him. This event, which will start at 5:20 pm, is open to all and parking will be provided free of charge.
