Val’s Birthday Bash – Costa News Spain

Local charities fundraising champion and pillar of the Costa del Sol community, Valerie Williams, celebrated her 86th birthday in style at La Sierra restaurant in Cerrado del Águila, Mijas.

A full house of family members, friends, and Simply Thriving members attended the party to celebrate its founder’s Big (Bold) 86th birthday. It was a great example of how important it is to stick together, and of the power of community spirit.

Emma Prothero was a star performer who wowed her audience with timeless classics that Val had chosen. The first few were selected by Val from the 50s or 60s. Etta’s At Last and Brenda Lee’s Sweet Nothins were among the timeless classics. Emma sang Dancing in the Street by Martha and the Vandellas, and everyone started dancing.
