An Irish national who beat a Costa Blanca resident to death with a knuckleduster in a fit or jealous rage accepted a six-year prison sentence via a plea agreement.
Wayne Walsh, 37 from Kilkenny, Ireland, will serve his sentence for the murder of Carl Carr in September 2018. The crime took place at an apartment on Torrevieja’s La Siesta residential area.
Carr’s body, discovered in a shallow hole off the AP-7 Highway in Rojales a few kilometres to the north in January 2019, was found in a shallow pit.

Walsh had confronted Carr over a relationship he was having with his ‘on-off’ girlfriend, British model Milly Leonard.
Wayne Walsh’s guilty plea was confirmed by an Elche court Wednesday. He will be required to report to the authorities mid-March or risk arrest.
Five years are imposed for homicide, and 12 months is imposed for illegal possession of firearms.
Walsh spent 18 months behind bars for the Carr murder before being released in August 2020.
It has been revealed that Walsh has paid €90,000 in compensation to Carr’s mother Marie and will have to find another €5,000 before March 20.
Walsh, who was released on bail in 2020, was arrested again at Madrid Airport – this time for a second arrest in 2023.
He was again jailed after he was accused of being the leader of a Torrevieja drugs gang which sent hashish, cocaine and other narcotics to the UK via parcel courier services.
It is unknown what the status of this case is.
Simon Fahy – also of Kilkenny – was found guilty in October 2023 by Spain that he had been directly involved in the murder of Carl Carr. However, Spain did not allow him to be extradited.
According to the reports of the time, Fahy died suddenly at 30 years old.
Four other defendants appeared in court at Elche on Wednesday, and they accepted plea bargains over charges of concealing an offense. Maximum sentences for a criminal trial were reduced from three years to three months.
The defendants will not be sentenced to prison as it was a first offence. Two of them have already been in custody.
Alberto Fernandez Camino was one of the four who helped Walsh carry Carr’s corpse to Rojales.
The three other victims were Milly Lenard, 29, Natalie Edwards 35, who was in a relationship Walsh at the time, and Anna Hudson 45.
Leonard and Edwards served three months of custody following their arrests in 2019 for concealment before being released, while Hudson spent time in detention for making false statements.
