Juan Grima Cervantes is a Professor of Geography and History in the I.E.S. Alyanub, Vera. He is the coordinator of the Axarquía The magazine and the Director Almansura magazine. He is a Member of the Spanish Society for the History of Archaeology and sits on the board of publications of the Archaia magazine. Additionally, he is a corresponding member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Granada and a member of the Institute of Almeria Studies of the Provincial Council of Almería.

Turre’s past: A guided tour with historian Juan Grima Cervantes

He has published nearly twenty books and over a hundred research and historical dissemination articles, most of them focusing on the Levante region of Almería. Including:   The Land of Mojácar from Its Conquest by the Catholic Monarchs to the Conversion of the Mudéjars (1488-1505) (Granada, 1987), The Morisco Expulsion of Turre and the Christian Repopulation of Turre (1570-1596) (Almería, 1988), Historical, Garrucha Photographic and Documentary Memory 1860-1936, Vol. Vol. Turre: Culture, History, Tradition and PhotographyAlmería, 1994) (Coordinator).

On Saturday, 16th February, he will lead a tour of the historical centre of Turre.
