500 officers to patrol Marbella feria

Marbella prepares for the largest event of the year. The annual feria will soon be here, and the local authorities have already announced a comprehensive security plan.

The week long celebration, starting on June 9, will see 500 officers in total. The officers include members of the Local Police and National Police as well as volunteers from Civil Protection, Fire Brigades, and Guardia Civil. They will have as their main objective to ensure the safety of the public and to manage large crowds that are expected at both daytime and nighttime events.

The fair will be held in two areas. The daytime feria takes place in the center of town while the evening feria takes place at the fairgrounds in Las Albarizas. Traffic will be redirected and officers will be located at both locations.

The police will pay extra attention to alcohol abuse, road safety and underage drinking. Police will also increase patrols to support emergency services and prevent petty crimes.

Marbella Town Hall said the plan was designed to give residents and tourists peace of mind. The feria is set to be an exciting and fun-filled week, with live music, food stands, dancing, and family activities.
