17 TRADERS at a Denia street market have been arrested for selling 1,344 fake items with a retail value of over €346,000.
All male detainees aged 22-63 are charged with crimes against intellectual and industrial property.
Police conducted inspections of stalls following complaints by representatives of major brands about counterfeit goods being sold.

The officers were accompanied by an expert in trademark branding to identify the cheap imitations being passed on to customers.
17 stalls that had been accused of selling counterfeit goods were found all to be the culprits.
Among the items seized by officers were fake bags, wallets T-shirts sweatshirts belts shoes underwear towels and other items with forged logos.
Denia courts will carry out prosecutions and other investigations.
