The SPANISH Police have found nearly 300kg of hash in the Strait of Gibraltar, just one day after speedboats carrying narcos were seen up and down coast.

On Wednesday, patrol boats found the drug stash while conducting routine surveillance.

The officers opened the burlap bags and found 270kg worth of illegal drugs.

Additional patrols around the area did not uncover any more hash bales floating in the ocean.

The drugs are believed to have been dumped into the sea after a high-speed chase between the police and narcos.

This comes on the heels of a week marked by intense narcotics activity along Spain’s Atlantic coast and Mediterranean coast.

The narco-boats, which are always present in Spain’s rivers and shores, may have sought shelter from recent storms.

In broad daylight, a number of speed boats could be seen at the mouth of Guadalquivir River, which feeds Sevilla.

Other were spotted in Estepona, near the Playa Cristobal and as far east as El Cabo de Gato.

One commentator called it ‘a clear message: they are in charge. When authority is not in place, crime will take its place.
