You are tired of snails and slugs eating your plants?
It is important to remove these pests by hand.
Spring is a time when slugs, snails and other slug-like creatures are most active. Mild conditions that allow for dampness make them thrive. They hide under stones, pots and dense plants in the day and then emerge at night or dusk to feed on the young leaves and stems. It is best to find them in the early evening after a rainy or cloudy day.
Check your garden with a torch, gloves, and in all shady areas, under leaves and containers. They’ll be grazing, or you can follow their slime trails. If you don’t want to hurt them, relocate them. Some people leave the lizards out to attract natural predators, such as frogs or birds.
Use other defensive measures in conjunction with the hunt to truly reduce the numbers. Around vulnerable plants, try beer traps, crushed-shell barriers, or gravel barriers. If you use these methods consistently, they will protect your garden from snails and other slugs.
