Royal Gibraltar Police launched a scathing attack after a bottle-wielding gang assaulted three officers and forced them to seek medical attention.
Last night, a violent incident in Laguna Estate left police officers with facial injuries that needed medical attention.
The violence was condemned by a spokesman who said: “It’s appalling that our officers were attacked while doing their jobs last night.”
“Assaults against police cannot be accepted as part of their job.”

Officers responded to a report of a disturbance that occurred at a home in the housing estate around 8.20pm.
A man with a bottle confronted them upon arrival. He was arrested for assault.
The incident did not improve as several other individuals are said to have joined the fray and attacked the police officers.

Four arrests have been made, including one local woman aged 54 for violent disorder and assaulting police.
In a police station, an 18-year old woman was detained under suspicion of violent disturbance, disorderly conduct, and breach of the Peace.
A 21-year old man is facing multiple charges, including violent disorder and resisting police. He also faces criminal damage, assault on police, and resisting the police.

The fourth arrest involved 26-year old woman, who was also detained under suspicion of assaulting a police officer and violent disorder.
The camera worn by police officers was also damaged.
The RGP spokesperson added: “We want to thank these officers’ professionalism and effort in dealing with a challenging situation last night.
It can be a difficult job at times, and we are fortunate to have these officers.”
The Police confirmed that they are investigating the incident.
