Jenni Hermoso says: “I knew it should never have happened”
Hermoso said that she felt unable to respond in the moment. She told the court: “I felt it was completely out-of-context.” I knew that the kissing was from my boss and it should never happen in any social or work environment.

She denied Rubiales claim that he asked her permission to kiss her. “I did not feel or see him make any question gesture with his lips.” (cited by 20 Minutos).
The footballer reported that he felt pressured by RFEF to sign a statement describing a kiss as’mutual, completely spontaneous gesture’ while returning from Australia. Later, however, she retracted this version and remained steadfast in her claim that she had been kissed by force.
Hermoso complained to the judge about Rubiales’ behaviour. The former RFEF president was seen speaking to his lawyer throughout her testimony, prompting Hermoso to say, “I’m listening all the time…” in frustration (cited by 20 Minutos). Both avoided eye-contact during the hearing.
Several former RFEF employees have already testified, including Miguel García Caba (former director of Integrity) and Pablo García Cuervo (former head of sports communications). Luis de la Fuente will also be expected to give testimony.
Rubiales and three other co-defendants, all from the RFEF deny any wrongdoing. In the end, his refusal to resign in response to calls for resignation led to a three-year ban from football. The trial continues on Monday.
