Spain Day is held on the twelfth October yearly, and marks the arrival of Spanish backed explorer Christopher Columbus within the Americas.  The day is a nationwide vacation in Spain, which is well known with parades attended by the Royal Household and senior authorities in Madrid.  Regionally some cities could have a feria or concert events with music and dancing.
