Christian von Koenigsegg, who initially received criticism for his proposed 50-unit production, has now promised to add 20 more cars to the line. A release date is imminent.
This is why there are so few CC850s available for eager buyers.
Another reason behind the 50-unit release is to celebrate Christians 50th birthday, hence the ‘S’ in the Koenigsegg name being replaced by a ‘5′ for the new model’s production, with many hyping this latest edition from the hypercar giants as an all-time marvel.
To be able produce and manufacture such a crazy model would require a lot of money. Koenigsegg Reodor is the name of their production line that they built in Angelholm.
It will be a tribute to original Koenigsegg car, but it won’t have any similar components
The CEO of Koenigsegg has stated that the car will not be just a showpiece, but rather, it will focus on other aspects, and not just its performance capability and record-breaking goals.
The Jesko CC850 is a tribute to the very first Koenigsegg production car. However, it does not share any specifications or components with that original.
The car is equipped with a 5 litre twin turbocharged v8 motor, a multilink suspension front and back, triplex dampers on the rear, as well as rack and pinion steering. This monster’s Engage Shift System gearbox is the cherry on top and separates it from the competition.
This is a truly audacious and innovative piece of engineering. It can be used either as a nine-speed automatic or gated manual transmission.
The driver can simulate six manual gear shifts using a clutch-by wire pedal or choose the automatic shifting function for fun.
Experts say the 3.1m-dollar price tag is justified because speeds of 60mph are predicted in 2.5 seconds.
This car is only for the highest-profile car lovers, however, since it costs a staggering 3.1 million dollars.
Experts in the motor industry say that the car’s price will not fool anyone, because it is still breaking world records even though it wasn’t designed for this purpose. The CC850 is the first production car to feature a stick-shift by-wire transmission.
Christian von Koenigsegg’s CEO said the CC850 was “the fastest manual car that I could think of around a racetrack.”
Even though it has had to reduce its horsepower by about 300, choosing smaller turbos for its roaring engine, it still maintains the same power-to weight ratio as Koenigsegg’s Jesko, which is the fastest model ever made.
This latest Koenigsegg, while no official numbers have been projected, is expected to reach 60 miles an hour in about 2.5 seconds. Its chances of hitting this terrifying acceleration rate are boosted by the 1,000 lb.ft torque sitting at its rear wheels, ready to be released.
Koenigsegg has stated that it will “add another client-spec CC850 every two weeks” with models scheduled for production between 2025 and 2027.
Christian von Koenigsegg proclaimed 2025 to be the “year of CC850”. It’s easy to see why. Car moguls all over the world will rejoice at this amazing creation.
