CSN: Red weather warnings for Spain are issued due to Storm Ivo, while heavy snow is expected in Andalucia.


The rough seas are causing a number of red alerts for tomorrow in northern Spain.

The warning by AEMET is in place across the whole coastline of A Coruña, the Basque Country and parts of Galicia.

The advisory warns there will be an ‘extreme risk’ to life in these areas from midnight tonight until 6pm tomorrow.

Storm Ivo brought strong winds to Europe, one of the four storms which hit this week.

On Thursday, dozens of Spanish towns and cities were placed on alert.

AEMET predicts 2cm for Guadix, Baza and Granada tomorrow.

Snow warnings have also been issued for the Sierra Nevada and Alpujarras. Up to 5cm may fall.

While the majority of Almeria Province is on a Yellow Alert for wind speeds that could reach 70km/h,

AEMET has not issued any weather warnings in the Balearic Islands or Costa Blanca.
