ALICANTE ELCHE’s airport security team discovered a strange smuggling episode when 20,000 Viagra capsules were found crammed inside a suitcase.
Guardia Civil has arrested a woman aged 63.
The Guardia, the Tax Agency and her were charged with smuggling offences and violations of public health.

The smuggler arrived in Spain via Madrid.

They had a diamond-shaped inscription that read ‘sildenafil citrate’, which is an active ingredient used to treat erectile dysfunction.
The traveller did not have a licence for carrying the drugs and was unable to explain to authorities why she had so much.
After appearing in court at Elche, she was released on bail. The seized pills have been sent to be tested for authenticity.
The airline reminded passengers who travel with medications that they are only allowed to bring a three-month supply with them, along with the prescription or medical certificate.
