Arboleas’ new La Loma Park in Old Town is taking form as the work continues.
It was necessary to level the terrain before building retaining walls and creating play areas for children, an outdoor gym for seniors, and pathways. This area had been neglected for some time.
“This will become an ‘inclusive space’ where all residents can enjoy open air activities,” Arboleas mayor Jose Juan Ramos said when work first began at the beginning of January.
The old health center, which is soon to be moved to Centro Gaulalinfo will be converted into a small bookshop and become a Punto Vuela centre of the regional government with internet access for residents, students and digital nomads.
The €65,000 project financed by the central government’s Rural Development Programmes will give new life to a formerly undeveloped Arboleas zone, the mayor said.
Ramos stated that the project is ambitious and involves a complete overhaul of Old Town services and appearance.
